Hi, I am not a resident in Spain but have a property. The authority has recently asked me to declare my income tax from my country of origin. Does anyone know how to go about or  a tax specialist who speaks English please?

Hello. If you have stayed 183 days or more  in Spain in a calendar year, then the government considers you a resident for tax purposes and can ask you for your income from your country, as you will need to pay taxes in Spain. If you stay less than 183 days in Spain, then you are a non resident and Spain will not require you to pay taxes in Spain. Good idea t consult an accountant who deals with foreigners.

Thanks for the quick response. Do you happen to know of an English speaking accountant?

We have used https://www.abacoadvisers.com/ for over 7 years for all of our legal and tax needs in Spain and have been very happy with them has their pricing has been competitive and their service excellent.  And looking at their website reviews though it seems that they've had quite a few negative reviews in the last year so if you work with them perhaps it would be worth asking why.

I am afraid I do not . I also own property in Spain, but we never stay more than 180 days.

Abaco will be able to help you with this, it's part of their services.
