Which banks process gov't tax payments in their banks?

I have to pay my tax fee for my NIE and went to Caixa in Platja d'Aro but they told me, they only process the gov't tax fee payments only on Fridays! Are there banks that are not day specific for paying the NIE application gov 't tax fee in or around S'Agaró (say Palamós) or Sant Feliu de Guixols?

I cannot believe that they are being so oddly 'day specific'! I'm basically losing an entire week because this idiotic policy! I've tried to pay the tax fee via an ATM but that didn't work either! Also, I read somewhere that you have to insert a €10 not to pay the fee when the tax itself is €12. I thought that the ATM would automatically withdraw the amount entered from the card?
