Can anyone tell me if the Stella Maris Hotel on Avenida Villa De Madrid 18 Blanes 17300 is the old Blanes Hotel.  Or if not, which hotel it was and which year it changed its name.  My husband visited the Blanes Hotel in 1967 with his family and he feels that the Stella Maris looks like the one he remembers.

Would be grateful for any information.

I have experience as a restaurant/small hotel manager for over 17 years in a ski resort, some travel agent and travel guide experience, scuba diving instructor, photographer. I’ve been working with TUI Intercruises as a product developer and just finalized studying an MBA in tourism and hospitality here in Bcn. I am looking for a more challenging  job In the tourism/ travel agency business. I have a passion for travel, outdoor sports, eco friendliness, sustainability and such. Also over 5 years experience as a photographer landscape, portrait, travel and real estate. I am able to relocate to any area as long as it is by the sea. I am an european citizen with NIE and Social Security number, and speak English proficiency, Castellano intermediary and some French and Italian. Also native Romanian. Just wanting to get some insight into what kind of people - locals, students, workers, foreigners etc would come to live year round in Blanes?

I don't know the town that well. I live in Barcelona.

I am at the final stages of buying a flat in Los Pinos. Nice building, overlooks a park, close to beach.

Corner flat- so two long balconies, lots of natural light. 3 bedrooms. About 70m2

Real estate agency says most people wanting long term rental looks for 2 bedroom flats.

It needs renovation. 
Will put in new floorboards, bathroom, open kitchen, new electrics etc.

I guess wondering what kind of demand there is. What is average rent/ max rent someone would pay for a nicely renovated flat.
Have been researching a bit- seems average is about 550-650€.
Would need to charge on the high end or a bit more to cover my costs really.

Not too late for me to pull out of deal and mortgage etc :-)

Any clues?
Anyone here looking to rent a flat full time from May onwards? That's when the flat should be ready :-)
Am uploading some photos here- not of the Blanes flat, though of a small 40m2 flat I bought and renovated in the Borne and Barcelona.

We are really proud of the final look- this isnt' the final style we will do for Blanes. Though to give you an idea of what I enjoy doing.
P.S I'm not a commercial company, just an individual with an interest in all of this.

Has anyone ever come across a situation with Aigues de Blanes where an overdue water bill from a previous tenant is left unpaid. Does this water company have a payment recovery team who will pursue the unpaid monies or a small claims court who can advise?

Good morning all,

We are a retired couple mid 60s considering firstly renting in the area and wondered what it’s like living in Blanes all year round, is it a working town and not just a resort. We normally visit Portugal but my wife has gone off flying so we would drive there.

I’m coming over on my own first to have a look around is there a hotel you could recommend please
