Expat from the US

Hello, we are at a similar stage and bought a house in Tossa de Mar two years ago--planning to retire to Catalonia gradually over the next decade or so. We worked with Sales & Rental Spain, run by a British expat family and located in Tossa, though they have properties all over. We are Planning to do the same . We already have a holiday home in Pals beach but it would not be suitable for all year living . We love the location though. This post is quite old so you may have already decided on a location. I would recommend Pals / Begur / Palafrugell area . 

We have just brought a villa in Begur, not in the town as we wanted some land and a pool. About a 10 minute cycle ride to the most beautiful beaches and the same to the wonderful market town of Palafrugell. We know the area well as we have spend our summers here for the past 12 years. It really is a very special area. 

That sounds wonderful ! We will be looking to do the same but probably not for another 5-10 years! I agree its such a beautiful part of the world. 

We are planning on doing the same. We would like to buy property now with the plan of retiring in the area in a few years' time. We did our preliminary visit last summer, we have visited several times in the past but without seriously thinking about it being our retirement location. We will be back this May and would like to contact a real estate agent that has experience working with USA ex-pats retiring to the area. We are ready to start looking at some properties. Our initial thought is L'Escala, mostly because we have friends there, but are open to exploring some of the other towns close to there. Does anyone have any recommendations for an agent that works predominantly in that area? Of course, I can Google it, but would it would be easier and probably better if it was a recommendation from someone who has maybe done the same.
