... from Canada and have a holiday home in Lloret de Mar (on the coast) that we visit 3-4 times/year (semi retired) and get around quite well with just English.  

If you don't have a realtor the fellow that we used for the two homes we've purchased in the area is just wonderful, a good honest Spanish fellow from Blanes from a small two person real estate firm.  I can send you his contact info if helpful.

We'll actually be there for the first 3 weeks of September so if we can help you with anything let me know.
