hi guys,

Currently looking to relocate to Girona with my young family- looking for some advise on local living, expat groups/Hub what the lifestyle is like, tips on making the move with a young family and any help will be grateful. I speak 3 languages- Spanish being my mother tongue but my wife is English so want to make sure that there is a good hub for her to feel like she is not isolated.

any tips and advise is welcome- we are looking to do a weekend trip in September so happy to meet with anyone who has done the move we are looking to do.

Gracias

Camilo

If you're in Girona proper then there are quite a few people that speak English when going out shopping or to restaurants, etc. so it should help your wife integrate.  Otherwise anything closer to the coast would offer more access to english speaking people as it's more touristy.  We're from Canada and have a holiday home in Lloret de Mar (on the coast) that we visit 3-4 times/year (semi retired) and get around quite well with just English.

If you don't have a realtor the fellow that we used for the two homes we've purchased in the area is just wonderful, a good honest Spanish fellow from Blanes from a small two person real estate firm.  I can send you his contact info if helpful.

We'll actually be there for the first 3 weeks of September so if we can help you with anything let me know.
