Great town near Valencia

Hi we are presently living in the Caribbean and hope to retire to Roses or near by, in Jan 2023. In June we are making a visit to find a property. We will be in Spain for about 3 months. during our visit we would like to stay in or around Valencia for two to three weeks can anyone suggest a very nice town in or near Valencia where we should look to rent. We would like to be close to restaurants and amenities walking or a short drive. Any suggestion would be appreciated. We are from the U.K. so an area with a bit of an expat community might be an advantage.
