Looking for Hotel with outdoor pool. - 0 replies
Hello, I'm looking for a hotel with a pool in Roses. Made a mistake with booking. Travel agent said they'd try to procure a hotel outside what they have to offer. Spent days looking. I can't walk too far, so have tried nearer beach but not much in the way of outdoor space/pool if beachfront? I suppose I could get taxi? Sorry for long message, would dearly love to stay here because of the safe beach and lovely memories. Grateful for any help please.

Agbar Water Bills - 0 replies
Hi, we recently had an astronomical water usage of 230 M3 in 20 days, which is about 11000 litres a day and we weren't even in the house. A very minor leak was found but.... This plus the current water situation led us to focus on water consumption quite a lot.
Our latest Agbar bill showed 14 M3 when we were only there for 2 weeks religiously trying to obey all current advice. We thought that pretty good until we compared with our UK usage which is around 80 M3 for 6 months which includes garden watering/baths/ someone who thinks 20 mins is OK for a shower, the usual extravagance.
Agbar claim their meter is sound, and there is no visible evidence of huge amounts of water leaking within the house or garden. Has anyone had issues with Agbar meters?
Unfortunately, we are in Calonge which is on Agbar's to-do list for Smart water meters
So first question is: Is a M3 standard across UK and Spain?? - joke
Seriously, does anyone have an english translation of the various elements on an Agbar water bill? Specifically what is the Canon Aigua ACA, which seems to make up a large % of the bill
Many thanks

UK TV Channels in Calonge - 6 replies
Hi, until today we used telsat dish and box (Phoenix HD mini) in our house in Cabanyes. This has not worked since we arrived last week (we got channel names but "no signal" message) , and we finally got round to going into the shop in Platja, only to be told the relevant satellite has a potentially terminal problem.
Does anyone have a suggestion of an alternative solution, which hopefully does not require annual subscriptions as we don't really watch enough to be worth paying for.
Many thanks

Cala Salions Urbanization - 2 replies
Hi,
I've returned from a recent trip to the Costa Brava during which I was visiting property with the intention to buy something small that my wife and I could use for part of the year. Tossa was the nicest place I visited, but my budget doesn't stretch to something in the town with a view of the sea.
I did see a 2 bed in the Cala Salions Urbanization about 10km up the coast, and I am thinking of making an offer on it. I didn't think I'd like an urbanization that was out of town, but when I was there (early April) it was nice and quiet, which I liked, and the drive in and out of town doesn't bother me (its actually a really pleasant drive given the views over the sea).
Cala Salions is probably overdeveloped and the least appealing of the urbanisations along the coast (as reflected in the prices), but we're really just looking for a base. We plan to be there in low season, and if its practical (and legal) rent it out for a month at a time in July and August (that's isn't a requirement for us however).
Are there any compelling reasons not to buy in that particular urbanization, or in urbanizations in general in that area? I know that it will be deserted in winter and that shop/restaurant will be closed, but that doesn't really bother me. I like having places to myself!
