We have just bought a house in Empuriabrava that requires some renovation. I am looking for a good reliable builder to remove an arch between the kitchen and living room to make it more open plan. Many thanks.

I would recommend checking with Klapar. My wife and I are essentially having a full renovation of our flat in Empuriabrava, and while the work hasn't been performed yet, they've inspired a lot of confidence with their recommendations and with their cost estimate for the work (which was very similar to another we received).
I believe they only speak Spanish and Catalan, but they're very friendly and have been very patient with my lower-intermediate Spanish. They're located on a corner of the main street, Joan Carles I, around C/Porto Fino in Empuriabrava.
