Hi,

I've returned from a recent trip to the Costa Brava during which I was visiting property with the intention to buy something small that my wife and I could use for part of the year. Tossa was the nicest place I visited, but my budget doesn't stretch to something in the town with a view of the sea.

I did see a 2 bed in the Cala Salions Urbanization about 10km up the coast, and I am thinking of making an offer on it. I didn't think I'd like an urbanization that was out of town, but when I was there (early April) it was nice and quiet, which I liked, and the drive in and out of town doesn't bother me (its actually a really pleasant drive given the views over the sea).

Cala Salions is probably overdeveloped and the least appealing of the urbanisations along the coast (as reflected in the prices), but we're really just looking for a base. We plan to be there in low season, and if its practical (and legal) rent it out for a month at a time in July and August (that's isn't a requirement for us however).

Are there any compelling reasons not to buy in that particular urbanization, or in urbanizations in general in that area? I know that it will be deserted in winter and that shop/restaurant will be closed, but that doesn't really bother me. I like having places to myself!

Can anyone advise me, my air conditioning system requires replacing, could anyone advise me how much this is likely to cost. I have a 3 bedroom apartment. Th

Do you need the house painting this winter, inside or outside? I am a decorator from the UK, I also offer handyman services. We also offer dog-sitting at our house in the forest. Merry Christmas 

Does anyone know what is happening with the old Camping Can Marti campsite. I know it closed and ended as a business on 31st Aug 2023 however I was wondering if it will be taken over and possibly reopened.

I have lost my phone at tossa de mar. no stealing i guess. i could haveb probably dropped it yesterday. who should i contact to? i have already reported it to barcelona police. platja grana is the place i dropped it. i am going back to my home country turkey today.

I am on holiday in Tossa de Mar in a couple of weeks and would like to hire a travel cot so I do not need to bring one on the plane. 

Any recommendations for getting to Girona airport as taxi is expensive? 

Having recently lost my partner of 20 years I should now like to fulfil my dream of finding somewhere in the sun to live. 

I have read some lovely things on Tossa but wonder how big the expat community is and what kind of a social life I can expect to meet new people?

I’m thinking of renting an apartment in January to come out and look around and so any recommendations on best places to find somewhere to rent would also be extremely helpful.
