Places to live inland near La Garriga

Hello!

I am Mum of a family of 4 looking to relocate to the Costa Brava and would like some advice on nice areas to live. We will be renting and are keen to live somewhere rural but with easy access to a town/beach and community! Are there any other ex pat families out this way? We are intending to send the kids to the Rural International School so I am sure we will meet people there but its always nice to know we are not alone! 

Any tips on the area/things to do/how easy it is to integrate?
