Hi, I often see dog sitters needed, we offer dog sitting at our house in a forest with lots of space near Tossa de Mar, we only take one dog at a time and can feed your friend whatever you like. They get lots of walks, they sleep indoors and no cage. We have a small dog who is very well socialised. We can do single nights or weeks, you are welcome to check out the facilities. Thanks.

We will be in Roses, and would like to know health facilities, i.e. doctors, hospitals or private health care. We are non Spanish speaking, so if possible would like to know who to contact.

Just wondering if anyone would be interested in a "swap" between Tossa and Dublin, Ireland for a few weeks during the summer?

I have a 2 bedroom terraced house, close to the centre (20 mins walk), with excellent transport links & canal, river nearby. Its right beside the Google HQ and has excellent local shops, restaurants and bars. 

If anyone was thinking of a break from the tourists and the heat in July/August maybe we could swap for a few weeks?

I have a cat, and if you have any pets that would need to be looked after while you were away, that would definitely be something we could share.

Hi, I have a large dog and I’m looking for a recommendation for boarding for 2 weeks and the odd over nighter.  I’m based around 30 mins from Girona nr Pals, but happy to travel for the right place. Any suggestions are appreciated. I would not use a kennel back in the Uk but feel I have little choice here…..please bring on those suggestions.  Thanks everyone 

Hi there, we own an apartment in L'Escala (Riells) and we are looking for someone to take out our current bathroom (bath, unit etc) and replace all and re-tile. We also have an additional separate toilet that needs renovating too. We are visiting L'Escala from 2nd April until the 14th so would like to arrange this during this time. The work would then need to be completed by the middle of June. Does anyone have any recommendations on who we can contact to carry out this work?

Hi, we have a property in Calonge which is sometimes rented out. We need to get access to the Cl@ve system. We have the NIE, but need either the NIE support number, which isn't on the NIE document we have, or a Cl@ve PIN, which it looks like you can't get without the NIE support no. Anyone have any idea how this works? Do we need to present face to face, and if so, where? Many thanks. Rick

I have an apartment in Tossa and would like to stay there longer than 2 holiday weeks, ideally 1 month. But I need a stable internet connection to work.

To pay for a contract is not the solution. The house is used just in sommer.

Any idea how to get a good connection for a limited period, 1 month more or less? (I live in Germany, by the way).

Which operator can I contact? What about Spain Internet.net? Is that good?

Which options do I have?

We are Canadian couple ( +55), looking to make Costa Brava our second residence. We are coming next week to visit coastal cities from Blanes to Begur - renting an apartment for 7 days in Blanes and 7 days in Palamos.  We are searching for a coastal place that is active year around, as we will be there mostly off season.

In terms of language, we speak English and French, but just started to learn Spanish; I liked very much Nicola’s note ( 2021 post in Calonge Forum) about modicum of Spanish and a bit of Catalan getting you by…Still far from there, but hopefully, will be able to produce “something to this effect” by the end of the year…

Our hobbies include tennis (too much competitive, I must admit), skiing and walking in the nature. The last seems to be in abundance in the area, and I can’t wait to explore it.  

As we do not have any contacts in the area, we would greatly appreciate to hear any advice and pointers, and maybe even meet for a coffee while we are in the area!

Hello, All! We are from Canada, looking to buy an apartment in Costa Brava where we could live close to 6 months annually.  We would like to live in a coastal place that is active year around, as we will be using it mostly off season.

Our search brought us to this beautiful section of Costa Brava, and we are coming next week to explore the area and get a feel for what it may be like to live here off the season. We are planning to visit all coastal cities from Blanes to Begur  (renting 7 days in Blanes and 7 days in Palamos) and we arranged to see some properties with local agents. 

At this point, I wanted to see if you could share with me some advice on how to approach this trip to get the best feel for the area, or maybe some does and don’ts when we are coming for this short visit. Property purchase is a big step and they say: hindsight is 20/20, so if you could share some things that worked for you, or what would you do if you were to do it again - we would be very grateful.

I need also to say this: we are fluent in English and French, but only started to learn Spanish.
