Hello everyone. I am a newbie to this site and to the Costa  Brava!

I visited Blanes last year,2017 and was totally captured by the areas beauty. This year I want to try Tossa de mar and would love to hear about the places you love to eat in, local delicacies, places to visit and generally anything you could suggest to make my visit memorable.

I would also love to hear from any ex pat's and what makes the area special for them. I am considering a relocation for my retirement.

Thanks in advance x

Hi Bunty1,

We've been visiting Tossa for 30 years and would recommend it to anyone. We love it so much we have just bought an apartment with a view to enjoying retirement in the near future. All the restaurants serve delicious food and Panos bar is particularly good value (it's just across from Costa Brava hotel front entrance). We have stayed in lots of hotels and can recommend the Costa Brava hotel or the Oasis. The old town and Castle are the places to be in the evening for an atmospheric stroll with a buzzing culture. We even tried the other Costas when looking to buy as you can get so much more for your money but we came to the realisation that location is everything.

There is a saying that once you have visited Tossa, you will always return. Enjoy your stay.

Wendy

Many thanks for your reply to my post and your recommendations Wendy.

My daughter wants to try self-catering ( I still fancy a hotel but see her point in the flexibility of doing your own thing) so, that being the case, I am back asking for suggestions on good self-catering establishments and would love feedback from you. We are looking forward to our holiday in Tossa and will check out the places you suggested to me. Once again many thanks.
