Hi

Please could someone help me.

My husband passed away in August of cancer just after being diagnosed in July.

We owned an apartment near Palamos but it was just in his name and I need to find out his NIE number and the deeds to the apartment but I cannot find it anywhere.

My husbands step father took care of everything but sadly he passed away too in February and his mum is not sure either where to find it.

Please could someone point me in the right direction.

Many thanks in advance

Christine

Dear Christine,

First of all my condolences for your late husband's passing. Having to deal with all of this on your own is not easy. I only just recently moved to Castell-Platja d'Aro myself in late October. It took a bit of time to find my footing (I'm on my own here as well). I stumbled upon this website by chance and found them to be very helpful as well as solid and reliable. Even though they are based in Madrid, I feel that their advice might be helpful for you in any dealings to wrap up any loose ends and also point you in the right direction to retrace your husband's NIE. I'm sure you can ask them for advice since they do have an option for free legal advice.

I wish you all the best in resolving any outstanding issues so that you may be able to move on and do what will help you.
