Which town to choose to move to in Costa Brava?

Hello! I have a flat in Sant Feliu de Guixols and  it is nice here. There are nice restaurants, concerts and the quality of live is pretty nice and easy going. People here has a name for being not particularly open to meet new people but in general,  I would say it is a nice place to be. Also close to airport and still a living town during winter.

Thank you for your message. Can you tell me if Sant Feliu de Guixols has nightclubs that operate during the summer time? If yes, are they loud, so much so, that somebody living in a condo nearby could have trouble sleeping? I have looked most of all into properties in Lloret de Mar, but a cousin who visited Lloret de Mar during the summer told me that this town gets very congested with lots of youngsters and the nightclubs may be loud. That is why I am having second thoughts about Lloret de Mar and started looking at other towns in Costa Brava.

Sant Feliu is quiet. There is not nightclubs. Traditionally has been more of a family holiday destination. It’s busy in the summer, specially august but not in the sense of a party town. Dont look right on the beach since is where there is more bars and restaurants so you will have more noise and people walking etc. Our flat is 300meters from the beach and we cant hear anything. Something I should mention is flats in this town are reconverted from old houses. Which means you might have your neighbours closer than you would like. I didn’t pay attention to this since my family is from here and I am used to this. My wife who is british finds it a bit odd. If you would like a house at a good price you can always check Santa Cristina de Aro. It doesnt have a beach but its a 5 min drive and there are houses with gardens. I hope this helps!

Hi Paty, we do exactly what you’re planning. We have a house near Pals. Between the old town and the beach. A beautiful area, Palafrugell is all year round and the small towns along the coast are quieter out of season but still have plenty going on. We love this area. The coast, mountains and forests are all stunning, the ‘locals’ pretty special too. Good luck with your search.
