Hi,

Recently arrived in Begur and in need of a medical card as a new resident.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, perhaps an English speaking gestor ?

Hello Alan,

My wife and I moved here before the end of the Brexit Transition period which made our process more straightforward than if we had arrived after the Transition. Even so, it took the best part of 9 months to obtain the Residency Card and then the Health one.

Unfortunately, your task is now more complicated but as I understand it still achievable.

I did all the work myself. I made enquiries from a couple of Gestors whose quotes were taking the ****. At the same time two friends were doing the same thing and although they did use Gestors it took them longer.

Take a look at Gov.uk, Living in Spain. It was really useful and they had a Help Line service here. But, do it immediately because I believe this Help Line service is finishing very soon.

Apologies for a gloomy reply but it represents the reality of Manana in dealing with bureaucracy over here in Spain.
